ONG SAJER: PROJECT SUPPORT YOUTH BUSINESS RURAL

PROJECT SUPPORT
YOUTH BUSINESS RURAL

Background

Despite the adoption of a package with the flowing to the implementation of projects and programs such as the U-PAJER and PIFMAS, socio-economic integration of young people to this day remains a major concern for the Cameroonian government.
Indeed, youth is the social class most affected by unemployment. The results of the survey on employment and the informal sector conducted in 2010, 12.57% of 20-29 years are affected by the scourge. In urban areas, they are to be allocated 20.74% against 5.33% in rural areas. To address this situation, the young invest the informal sector but too often lack training and / or coaching needed to develop their business. The findings of the second household survey (ECAM II) published in 2005 show that 1.8% of 15-30 year olds considered working in the public sector, 12% in the private sector and 86.2% in the informal sector. These studies also show that 44.1% of 15-30 year period working on their own account when using 29% are familial and 8.7% are unskilled laborers.
In this context, self-employment appears to be a very convincing alternative to the various ideas developed to date. But does this mean that young people are trained to settle on their own account.
